Create a Repair Order

To create an RO,

1.  In the Planner page, click the (Create New) Repair Order command.

The Create New Repair Order page opens.

2.  Identify the vehicle:

a.  If you know the unit number, type the Penske Unit # or Customer Unit # in the respective field.

b.  If you do not know the unit number, click the Select button.

The Vehicle Selection page opens.

c.  Type as much of the number as you know in the respective field.

d.  Click the Search button.

Units that match your search are listed.

 If the customer unit is not in the system, click the New Foreign button to enter information and include it in the system.

 All Penske vehicles are in the system.

e.  Click the option button to select the vehicle and click the Select button.

You return to the Create New Repair Order page.

3.  In the Schedule Date area:

a.  Click the date to schedule the RO.

b.  Use the Due In Time arrows to select when the vehicle is due at the shop.

4.  In the Needed Time area:

a.  Click the date the customer needs the vehicle.

b.  Use the Time arrows to select when the vehicle is needed.

 Check the Customer Waiting box if the customer is waiting for the vehicle.

5.  In the Assign Work area:

a.  Click the option button for the work assignment (Tech, Vendor, or PTCR).

b.  Click the Select button.

A page opens where you can search for and select the tech, vendor or PTCR.

c.  Select the tech, vendor or PTCR.

You return to the Create New Repair Order page with the assignment information filled in.

6.  Click the Save button.

The RO Creation Step Two page opens.

7.  In the Mileage field, type the current vehicle mileage reading and click the Save button.

The Add Job page opens. See Create a Job.
